It was a National Socialist concentration camp on the beech forest from
1936 till 1945. On the area a special camp (special camp No.2) was furnished
in 1945 and used till 1950. |

There is the memory place for the former remand prison of the time of
1936 till 1945. Seven areas are received in the cellar ,whitch served
as prison and mass cells for the accommodation of political opponents
and other prisoners .The documentation accommodated here also reminds
of the use after 1945, when the Soviet secret service and German organs
of justice kept politically other thinking ones imprinsoned there. |

On behalf of the German Unesco commission the monument was developed in the summer of 2000. Two chairs face each other. They are cut ourt of a granite block, so that both chairs are part of a whole one. They ares posed on a base slob, the symbol for the connecting strength of th art of poetry. They are symbol for communication between the cultures. |
