In order to bind Goethe on Weimar, Carl August granted "the house in the park at the Ilm" to him in 1776.The simple way of life in his first time in Weimar are represented by the house and the historical reconstructed garden. The "stone of good luck" is placed in the garden. It`s one of the first not figurative monuments in Germany. The cube symbolizes the static, strengthening and resting. The ball lying over it symolizes the dynamic, the mobile, and because it rests, the luck.
